ANDRÉ MISCHKE YAE PRIZE FOR SCIENCE AND POLICY 2021 CALL FOR NOMINATIONS 2021
Deadline 15 April 2021.
The Young Academy of Europe Prize is awarded annually to an early to mid-career professional in recognition of their outstanding achievements and contributions to key areas of the YAE. In 2019, the YAE Prize was named “André Mischke YAE Prize for Science and Policy” in honor of the late YAE Founding Chair, André Mischke. The prize is awarded to support and promote: science, evidence-based policy making, science communication , and future generation scientists
and scholars in Europe.
DANIEL CARASSO FELLOWSHIP CALL FOR NOMINATIONS 2021
The Fundación Daniel y Nina Carasso awards the Daniel Carasso Fellowship to outstanding early-stage researchers engaged in the promotion of sustainable food systems. The Fellowship consists of a research career development grant to carry out a research project at a Spanish university or research centre for a two-year period.

BARCELONA HYPATIA EUROPEAN SCIENCE PRIZE
The AE-BKH is pleased to announce that Italian virologist Dr. Ilaria Capua, current Director of the “One Health” Center of Excellence at the Univeristy of Florida, has been selected as winner of the second edition of the Barcelona Hypatia European Science Prize, for her research career conducted at the highest international level, for her leadership in the promotion of open access to genetic information on emerging viruses, and for the social impact that she has made through her contributions to the multidisciplinary concept of “one health,” encompassing human, animal and environmental health.
BARCELONA SCIENCE PLAN
The AE Barcelona Knowledge Hub supports the Barcelona City Council in its #Cities4Science initiative, calling for increased EU funding for research and innovation.
The Barcelona Knowledge Hub of Academia Europaea (AE-BKH) expresses its full support for the #Cities4Science initiative led by the Barcelona City Council on social media, and it encourages leaders across Europe to join their voices and push for greater support of science.
