research_europeAn article in the latest issue of Research Europe analyses the role of the Academia Europaea, its assets, the role of its regional hubs, the relationship with other academic institutions such as Allea and Easac, as well as economic issues, such as the impact of the crisis in its funding. The article turns out to be a brief SWOT analysis.

The article (“Raising their game???) highlights the capacities of the AE derived from the scientific excellence of its members and the fact that their areas span from humanities to natural sciences. But it also pinpoints some of its main challenges, such as the low impact on research policy making.

The article has been written following interviews with members of the AE’s Board.
